  • River deltas in Viet Nam provide many ecosystem services attracting investments in agriculture, commerce, and industry and they often account for a high percentage of the countrys GDP. However, river deltas are also exposed to land erosion and pressure on natural resources due to population growth, water and land management, industrialization and FDI projects with poor social and environmental standards, and urbanization. River deltas are also highly exposed to flooding, sea level rise and natural disasters caused by climate change. Increasing urbanization, migration inflows, and rural to urban migration in river delta regions could also exacerbate inequalities, requiring public investments in social protection and health, especially for migrants and vulnerable people. UNDP Vietnam is looking for a qualified firm/institute/organization to conduct a Research on Migration in Mekong River and Red River Delta Regions. The main objective of this research is to analyze the dynamics underlying migration flows and the condition of migrants living in the Mekong River and the Red River Delta Regions and migrants leaving the deltas for large nearby cities.
